Every Other Day

Every Other Day - Jennifer Lynn Barnes Kali D'Angelo used to be home-schooled until her dad decided that she was going to high-school, she's 16 and pretty normal, well half the time she's pretty normal. Every other day she's a hunter, with the ability to heal from wounds and find the supernatural creatures that hunt humanity. She feels a compulsion to hunt them. She's starting to find a place for herself in school and finding a friend, Skyler, who's a little bit psychic, or so she claims, and then the daughter of her Dad's boss, and most of the reason she's in high school has an Orobous symbol on her, a sign she's going to die, and soon. Kali takes on the creature hoping that her other abilities will kick in before the creature kills her, it's the wrong day. I liked this one, Kali is an interesting character and I loved Skyler and her family and her ability to embrace all the facets of a friend's difference and still like them. There were moments where the flow was interrupted and I did feel like I was missing something in the story for the background but overall I did like it. The personal mantras from Kali were a bit repeditive sometimes but you could see that she needed this in her life to keep going. This is an author I will have to read more of.
