This is an interesting look at the magazine Battle from the point of view of some of it's more popular strips. Some were long-running, some short runs but they all dealt with war, mostly world war II but some World War I (Charley's War in particular) and the Vietnam War (Fighting Mann) are included. These were both from the Allies and the Axis points of view and much of them are quite gruesome, but in many way they point out the horrors of war and why people would want to avoid it. It's an interesting collection, worth a look if nothing else to get a feel for some of the opinions of the people involved. Each strip has a short introduction and then a note from the people who did the work on it, if they're still alive.
Intresting but not something I'd add to my collection.
