The Knitting Circle

The Knitting Circle - Ann Hood This is a touching story of knitting and how people cope with issues that are almost too much to bear. There are moments of overwhelming sweetness but overall it's an interesting story of coming out of the depression from the loss of a child into an understanding and a new wholeness. There have been a number of books of this type recently and it is fun. The quotes from some of the luminaries of the knitting world at the beginning of the chapters is fun too. One of the big problems with the story was the way in which the characters had little to define them and a few extra characters could have been excised from focus without losing much of the impact. Sweet and interesting.
