It's not a bad concept. That the story of Alice in Wonderland is in fact based on a true story told to Lewis Carroll/ Rev Dodgson by Alyss Heart, that he thought was fiction and he played with it a little before publishing it. Alyss is from Wonderland, the daughter of the Queen, transported to Victorian England because of a coup by her aunt which has her parents dead. Growing up and being convinced that Wonderland is just her imagination and that she has to "grow out of it" she becomes quite normal. But her world is being torn apart by Redd, and only she can save it from destruction.
It's clever but sometimes it comes across as a bit too clever. Some of the ideas start off well but seem to lose impetuous half-way through as if the author got bored with them. Interesting and worth a read but nothing I'd rave about.
