This is a trilogy of books set in the same world as his Deathstalker books, but it is not necessary to have read that trilogy to understand them. Being really a series of books setting the tone of what the worlds were like before the rebellion and why it would be that anyone would want to upset the status quo.

Hellworld is a place with strange creatures and a lot of secrets, when the squad of misfits, sent here to survive or die (and in all likelyhood die), start investigating they find more secrets, secrets they won't all survive and that might have long-term repercussions.
