Could do better

Mrs. Sherlock Holmes: The True Story of New York City's Greatest Female Detective and the 1917 Missing Girl Case That Captivated a Nation - Brad Ricca

I've seen a few comments on this book that talk about it flowing like a novel but really it doesn't, it's interesting but I'm not sure where the author was going with the story, it's somewhat a biography of Grace Humiston and somewhat the story of the disappearance of an eighteen year-old girl called Ruth Cruger and the strange investigation of that coupled with a rumour of white slavery and a suspect who absconds to another country.

I didn't really feel that I really got to know any of the characters but it was interesting.
