Only a Promise
Broken by war he's afraid to feel, she is dogged by scandal, not of her own making, they both want to marry, but when they get to know each other a relationship builds, one that they don't expect.The cover is a bit disingenuous on the UK edition, as I thought I was getting a story about an oriental woman, or part-oriental, trying to deal with prejudice, but no, the cover character doesn't appear in the story.
I was swept up by this story and really liked the characters..
