Garet has money problems, an elderly father and her life is complicated. When she's given an old silver box by a man that has the same symbol as the ring her mother gave her. When she opens it her life starts to change and she finds that there's an other world beside her normal life and noting is ever going to be the same again. There were moments where it didn't quite work but mostly I quite liked this story of stumbling over faerie. It was almost YA but not quite. Reminded me somewhat of Charles de Lint, not quite as good but a similar world.
